Mainframe Identity Access Management SME

Full-Time in New Carrolton, MD - Remote OK - Senior

JOB SUMMARY

The Mainframe Identity Access Management (IAM) SME will provide subject matter expertise on configuration and maintenance of the mainframe environment and perform engineering and operational activities as requested. The candidate will serve as the point of contact and technical lead for IRS Cybersecurity identity access management regarding the mainframe environment while collaborating with other technology points of contact. Position is in support of our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) customer in New Carrollton MD.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

The Mainframe IAM SME will have the following responsibilities:

• Document the architecture, development, and implementation activities on ITSI projects to ensure they are utilized to achieve customer goals and manage technical risks

• Provide identity access management expertise for the design, architecture, development, deployment, configuration, integration and operation of IRS mainframe environments and non-mainframe environments and applications (e.g., z/TPF, z/VM, z/VMPC, z/OS, Unisys, etc.)

• Provide expertise in enabling multi-factor authentication to legacy and new applications on Mainframe z/OS, z/VM, z/TPF, Unisys, Windows, and Linux/Unix platforms

• Support the design, development and maintenance of mainframe COBOL, Assembler, FOCUS applications, REXX and JCL scripts. Provide expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining applications for the desktop and middle tier applications using C++, Visual Basic, Pascal, dBase, Dataflex and Microsoft Access

• Support the monitoring and maintenance of the mainframe security environments

• Create and maintain schedules for Cybersecurity mainframe tasks

• Provide support to security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with the Internal Revenue Manual (IRM) and industry best practices

• Provide Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation support through related security operational tasks (e.g., configuration checklists, compliance monitoring activities, monitoring baselines)

• Manage stakeholder engagement with EOps mainframe SMEs

• Assist in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Create, update, and manage high-quality project documentation that meets IRS acceptance criteria; create and review reports.

• Support analysis data quality and reporting

• Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with all IRS security requirements

• Provide status reports, attend meetings and take/distribute minutes

• Assist the IRS in applying cybersecurity compliance checklists to mainframe systems

• Work alone and with teams comprised of the primary client and other client stakeholders dispersed across geographical sites

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or additional four [4] years of related experience in lieu of degree) required

• Subject matter expertise on IBM and Unisys mainframes and operating systems

• In depth knowledge of mainframe security

• Ability to understand Python and REXX scripts

• Experience performing manual configuration settings management assessments

• Proven ability to work on and with teams comprised of the primary client and other client stakeholders dispersed across geographical sites.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with and/or knowledge of IRS IRMs

• Experience with reviewing/analyzing UWR requirements

• Experience with information security

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AS PER CONTRACT:

• Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active IRS Moderate Risk MBI clearance is a plus).

• Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
